Vancouver Canadians even it out against the Everett Aquasox

On May 12, 2026 the Vancouver Canadians began their homestand against the Everett Aquasox. This series was filled with multiple celebrations for the 75th Anniversary of Nat Bailey Stadium.
Tuesday night was marked with fans receiving a pennant for the Vancouver Capilanos, the first professional team to play in what is now Nat Bailey Stadium. Thursday was First Responders Appreciation night, where the Nat honoured those who serve the community. Finally, Saturday was South Asian Heritage Day, where fans could see the incredible South Asian community built into the city of Vancouver and surrounding cities.
Tuesday’s game was slow to start, but the Aquasox took the lead in the top of the third inning scoring 2 runs. They would go on to score another 2 in the top of the fourth, putting them up 4-0.
The Canadians got their first run of the night in the bottom of the fifth with Jacob Sharp hitting a home run. They would score their second run, off a single by Kendry Chirinos, which brought in Maddox Latta. They continued to battle hard to close the gap.
The Aquasox looked to hold the lead, but the Canadians secured 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh, putting them up 5-4 going into the final innings.
However, the Aquasox got one back in the top of the ninth to tie the game. Which pushed the game into extra innings.
Jacob Sharp would be the game day hero, hitting a single to left field which brought in Carter Cunningham to win the game, 6-5.
Wednesday the Aquasox got the win with a 3-0 victory. Thursday went back to the Canadians with a 7-2 win. Friday’s game was canceled due to weather, but made up for, in a doubleheader on Saturday.
Game 1 of the doubleheader celebrated South Asian Heritage, where the Canadians wore a special jersey designed by local artist Devyani Ibhise.
Both teams started quickly in the first inning. The Aquasox locked in a home run on the first pitch of the game. While the Canadians also secured a run in the first off a single which brought in Peyton Williams.
The Aquasox pulled ahead in the second inning with 3 runs scored. The Canadians got a run in the bottom of the third to put the game 4-2.
Again, the Aquasox locked in, getting 3 runs in the top of the fourth. The Canadians got 1 run back in the bottom of the fifth.
Both teams secured 2 runs in the sixth, putting the game 9-5. These would be the final runs of the game which went to the Aquasox.
Game 2 again started quickly for the Aquasox getting 1 run in the first. The Canadians would tie it at 1 with a run in the bottom of the second.
The Aquasox pulled ahead by 1 in the top of the fourth, and then secured another 2 runs in the top of the fifth. The Canadians secured another run in the bottom of the fifth with a home run from Matt Scannell, to put the game 4-2.
However, the Aquasox continued to pull ahead, securing the final 2 runs of the game in the top of the seventh, to end the game 6-2.
Though these games didn’t go in favour of the Canadians, they battled hard making some incredible defensive plays and challenging themselves consistently.
Sunday’s game the Canadians looked to tie up the series, which was successful, securing a 7-4 victory to end the series tied 3-3.
The Vancouver Canadians will be back at Nat Bailey Stadium on May 26 at 7 pm, PST where they take on the Eugene Emeralds.
