Vancouver Canadians win final regular homestand against Spokane Indians
August 25, 2026 marked the beginning of the final regular season homestand for the Vancouver Canadians against the Spokane Indians.
This was also the last week of celebration for Nat Bailey Stadium's 75th anniversary. Tuesday started with a Trey Yesavage bobble head giveaway, Wednesday was a Jojo Parker shirsey giveaway, Thursday was a bucket hat giveaway, while Saturday James Paxton threw out the first pitch and signed autographs.
The final home series started strong with a 6-1 win, however Spokane came back in game 2 winning 5-3. The Canadians went for back-to-back wins with games 3 and 4 winning 8-1 and 15-14. Game 4’s 15-14 game was one for the books. The Canadians were up by 9 however, Spokane fought back to tie the game and push it into extra innings. The final run that sealed the Canadians win was a walk-off balk.
Saturday's game had Spokane fighting hard for the win. The first 2 innings were scoreless but the third inning saw Spokane land 4 runs to put them in the lead. They would score another 2 runs in the fourth inning as well, but the Canadians were able to find their footing on defence and keep them at a total of 6 runs.
In the bottom of the sixth the Canadians secured 2 runs with a 2-run home run from Jake Casey. They continued to try and rally, with Dameury Peña hitting a home run in the bottom of the eighth.
Though the Canadians fought hard they would ultimately fall 6-3 in game 5. Game 6; the final home game of the season was the make or break game of the series. The Canadians looked for the win to take the series while Spokane looked to tie the series.
Spokane took an early lead in the game but the Canadians fought hard to secure a 4-3 win to take the series.
The Canadians head on the road for their final road trip of the regular series against the Tri-City Dust Devils.
